HE Kabje Kalu Rinpoche is requesting Support for the education his Young Monks being schooled
at Sonada Monastery. In the past few months, there has been a major change for Sonada Monastery
which is now housing all of the younger Monks, with the older monks being transferred to
Salugara for advanced studies at the Droden Kunkhyab Chodey Monastery.
Sonada Monastery has now become the new
home for all of the many younger monks and where they will live and complete
their elementary studies.
Currently there are many young monks being cared for at Sonada Monastery straining the capacity of our
current resources. There are three classes with three full time teachers and
one part time teacher offering Tibetan Language, English Language and Music and
Religious Studies. It has been difficult to meet the ongoing cost of text books
and educational supplies. Other needs include a better diet of fresh fruits and
nutritional supplements, warm winter clothing and blankets; medicine and
medical care; the installation of (gisers) to provide warm water for bathing,
and the purchase of a commercial washing machine.
Most of the young monks
come from very poor families who are unable to provide much support for them
and some of the monks are orphans with no source of support. We are doing our
best to take care of these monks but without more assistance we will not be
able to provide a better life and education for them. We sincerely ask you to
share your good fortune by making a donation for them.
The DKCT was founded by
the previous H.E. Kabje Kalu Rinpoche before his passing in 1989 in order to
provide support for his Monks and Lamas. Please be advised that the only
official way to make donations to Support the Monasteries of H. E. Kabje Kalu
Rinpoche is through the Droden Kunchyab Charitable Trust and that any other
solicitations are not sanctioned.
